The Project Coordinator manages, plans, and coordinates project activities to ensure goals and objectives are met within prescribed timeframes and funding. This involves reviewing project proposals, determining staffing and resource allocation, establishing work plans, and arranging for personnel. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical estimating, contracting, or as a field electrician
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Experience with takeoff and estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, Esticom, or Trimble or AEC Inspire
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical materials, and labor units
  • Strong mathematical abilities to compute costs, percentages, and materials
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in bidding
  • Strong communication skills for presenting estimates to clients and teams
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict tender deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
  • Reviewing project specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Conducting material takeoffs (calculating quantities from drawings)
  • Interacting with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
  • Managing project bids and proposals
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
