About The Position

Sporting Kansas City is looking for a Project Coordinator to keep our internal marketing engine humming. This is an entry- to mid-level in-office role designed for someone who is tactically minded, highly organized, and obsessed with accuracy. You’ll work closely with our Project Management, Creative, Strategic, and Digital teams to support workflows, implement plans, manage logistics, and keep all project information and systems current and moving. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the team as we prepare for the World Cup coming to Kansas City. As a Project Coordinator, you’ll focus on the how and what—taking strategic vision, breaking it down, and making it actionable. Your mission: ensure that execution is clean, clear, and on time, every time.

Requirements

  • Confidence juggling multiple timelines, deliverables, and resource needs.
  • A proactive communicator who isn’t afraid to clarify, confirm, or course-correct.
  • Strong attention to detail; takes pride in catching what others might miss.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple projects and departments at once.
  • An understanding of how marketing, creative, and strategic workflows operate.
  • Demonstrated 1–3 years of hands-on experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or event coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Workfront, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Willingness to work hard, adapt quickly, and support the team wherever needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a marketing or advertising team setting is a plus.
  • Experience working in Adobe Workfront or similar project management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with creative or marketing environments preferred.
  • Sports marketing a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of projects and deliverables across departments.
  • Support the execution of tasks within established internal workflows.
  • With the support of the Director, translate complex projects into action steps that are timely, clear, and achievable.
  • Help with scheduling, tracking tasks, and coordinating resources as needed.
  • Facilitate communication between Creative, Strategic, and Digital teams.
  • Keep project management systems up to date with accurate information.
  • Flag potential issues or misalignment for review by project leads.
  • Assist in reviewing deliverables for accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Share updates with internal teams to help maintain alignment.
  • Contribute to an organized work environment that supports creative and strategic efforts.
  • Maintain an organized environment that allows creative and strategic work to flourish.
