About The Position

Project Coordinator I, under general supervision, will assist the institute with project implementation, management and administration, planning, and reporting, project management, and coordination of all field operations at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in natural resources related field e.g., (Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences, Ecosystem Science and Management, Environmental Science) or closely related discipline.
  • Three years of related experience in project coordination/administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership with groups or teams, public speaking and writing skills, use of contemporary office software, ability to work cooperatively with wildlife professionals, state and federal personnel, and faculty of Texas A&M University, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service.
  • Ability to develop informational media.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard proofreading.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight when required.
  • Ability to complete objectives in a timely manner. Strong networking skills.
  • Experience with threatened and endangered (T&E) species, bird banding, radio telemetry, GIS, depredation, and database management.

Responsibilities

  • Handle specific duties and responsibilities of day-to-day project implementation and provide technical input to the project team to attain results to sustain natural resources management and mission capabilities at JBSA.
  • Coordinate research, management and educational program activities related primarily to threatened and endangered species, invasive species, and outdoor recreation.
  • Coordinate logistics such as developing itineraries, purchasing, administrative duties, and research-related activities.
  • Work closely with TAMU-NRI staff and AgriLife Extension personnel,
  • Plan and implement the JBSA natural resources effort, through training, wildlife surveys, manage habitat for wildlife and documentation.
  • Works to determine project needs. Writes reports and other related materials. Monitors and reports on financial activity for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates the development, design, purchase and installation and implementation of new services. Maintains database integrity, security, and accuracy.
  • Coordinates project activities including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls.
  • Coordinates with vendors and others in the delivery and support for systems and services.
  • Coordinates multiple work streams to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assists with forecasting and progress reporting against milestones, budgetary updates, and the change management process.
  • May supervise staff and students.
  • Other duties as required.
