About The Position

Coordinates, leads, and monitors activities of assigned projects to ensure that required actions are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters requiring considerable initiative and independent judgment skills. Duties may include but are not limited to the following: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the vision of the company. Develops job packages including the development and data entry of bills of material, labor operations, material requisitions, work instructions, shipping instructions, etc. Works in conjunction with and expedites internal processes involving production, purchasing, scheduling, quality control, and engineering departments to facilitate schedule requirements. Creates, implements, and maintains project schedules as required. Monitors jobs to include verification and staging of parts, materials, and sub-contracted operations. Identifies and resolves issues including drawing issues, material issues, and schedule changes. Prepares and issues project reports for management, client, or others as required. Prepares and submits customer required documentation. Generates and/or reviews previously generated material requisitions to initiate the procurement of required materials and sub-contracted activities. Reviews requisitions for completeness, accuracy, compliance with specifications, contract requirements and company procedures. Sources, investigates, and develops vendors for addition to company approved supplier list (ASL) Coordinates and executes assigned purchasing activities in accordance with established purchasing processes. Prepares and issues vendor request for quotes detailing precise specifications, supporting documents, and contracted flow downs. Reviews vendor quotations; facilitates internal reviews and selection for purchase order placement. Generates and issues purchase orders detailing precise specifications, supporting documents and contracted flow downs. Monitors purchase orders to mitigate delivery delays and validates receipts of materials against orders. Monitors purchase order status to ensure receipt of proper quality and quantity on specified dates. Coordinates resolution of vendor NCRs and quality issues through SCARs Performs other related duties as assigned. Represents the company in a professional, courteous manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical literature.
  • Possess basic knowledge of steel materials and mechanical components.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic accounting principles and methods as they relate to job costing and procurement activities.
  • Ability to prepare narrative and statistical reports.
  • Possess basic knowledge of business mathematics, office procedures and data collection techniques.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be computer literate, and skilled in the use of MS Office suite and MS Teams.
  • Ability to organize work and communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to answer questions effectively before small groups of customers or departmental meetings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform general algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Related certifications are a plus.
  • Manufacturing Information System experience is a plus.
