About The Position

About this Role The Project Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial performance of construction projects, ensuring budgets, forecasts, and reporting align with project goals. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Finance to deliver accurate financial insights, manage risk, and support informed decision-making on large-scale construction projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction finance, project accounting, or cost control.
  • Required: Prior job cost accounting experience within a large, complex general contracting or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control systems.
  • Experience working with established project cost control structures, financial reporting processes, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large or complex construction projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Track actual costs against budgets and provide variance and trend analysis
  • Maintain accurate financial data in project and financial systems (e.g., Ecosys)
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial and progress reports
  • Support change order evaluation, contract compliance, and cash flow management
  • Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies
  • Participate in job reviews and collaborate with project, finance, and procurement teams
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and construction accounting standards
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned
