About The Position

We are looking for a project assistant to work on the Guinea Tropical Important Plant Areas project. You will assist the Research Associate for West Africa with the organisation and supervision of projects in Guinea, working closely with the in-country project assistants and liaising with partners, oversee project spending, and assist reporting of the project to funders. In this role you will support and undertake occasional fieldwork in Guinea, collect and collate data for TIPA and Red List assessments and assist with training and delivering workshops. Requirements

  • Educated to degree level in biology, plant science or environmental studies
  • Highly motivated
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Good communication skills
  • Good written and spoken French to liaise with partners and colleagues
  • Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Field experience
  • Organised
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the African flora
  • Some knowledge of the TIPA programme
  • Red listing experience
