The Research Foundation of CUNY seeks an entrepreneurial and operationally rigorous leader to serve as the Director of the Continuing Studies Center (CSC). This is an RF CUNY position based within City Tech’s CE division. The Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, fiscal health, and operational excellence of the department, with a heavy emphasis on managing grant-funded programs, contract/partner training, and tuition-based professional programs. This is a full-time RF CUNY appointment with the following structure: Initial Term: 6-month appointment. Option to Renew: One 6-month renewal option based on performance and funding. Transition to a standard annual appointment following the initial 12 months.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in workforce development, educational administration, or higher education program management.
  • Understanding of Research Foundation policies, including grant administration and personnel management.
  • Ability to manage complex budgets and navigate contracting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily operations of the CSC, ensuring high-quality delivery of workforce training, professional certifications, and community education.
  • Align CSC programming with City Tech’s mission of technical excellence and the Division’s focus on Green Technologies and Essential Trades.
  • Oversee the logistics of on-campus and site-specific training
  • Manage the department’s annual budget, ensuring programs meet revenue targets and comply with RF CUNY and CUNY financial policies.
  • Oversee grant-funded contracts, ensuring all deliverables, milestones, and reporting requirements for agencies are met.
  • Manage procurement, payroll, and revenue tracking.
  • Lead the development of new, high-demand curricula that respond to NYC market trends.
  • Recruit, onboard, and evaluate a diverse pool of adjunct instructors and industry professionals.
  • Ensure program quality through data-driven assessment and student outcome tracking.
  • Liaise with industry leaders, CBOs, and government agencies to create student pipelines and job placement opportunities.
  • Navigate various funding, contract, and procurement systems to maintain prequalification and contract compliance.
