About The Position

Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects. DESCRIPTION Michael Baker is seeking an experienced Project Administrator to join our Construction Services team in Florida. This role is integral to the success and continued growth of our construction practice statewide. The Project Administrator provides direct support to Senior Project Engineers, Inspectors, project teams, and consultant partners, ensuring efficient delivery of CEI projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • With an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degree:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in highway construction management, including FDOT projects. A Master’s Degree in Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
  • Without a related degree:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in highway and bridge construction inspection, including 2 years on transportation projects.
  • FDOT CTQP certifications required, including: QC Manager, Final Estimates Levels I & II, FDOT Advanced MOT
  • Proficiency with FDOT construction administration systems, including Site Manager, Pay Item Tracking System (PTS), and LIMS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for Florida CEI construction projects.
  • Support all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through final acceptance and closeout.
  • Coordinate project deliverables, schedules, and documentation with Project Managers, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and track project reports, including weekly/monthly status reports, progress reports, schedules, and contract updates.
  • Monitor construction progress by reviewing field activities, inspection data, pay items, Daily Work Reports, and progress photographs.
  • Review and approve material submittals, monthly progress estimates, and inspection documentation for contract compliance.
  • Manage construction contracts and support resolution of construction issues through effective coordination.
  • Utilize FDOT systems (Site Manager, LIMS, PTS) for construction administration and materials acceptance.
  • Direct and assign tasks to administrative staff, Contract Support Specialists, and Inspectors as needed.
