About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Project Accountant - REMOTE. In this role, you will be essential to the financial management of civil engineering projects. Collaborating closely with Project Managers, you will ensure budgets are accurate and financial reporting is timely. Your expertise will assist in maintaining project profitability and compliance with contractual obligations, impacting the overall success of our engineering engagements. A proactive approach and strong analytical skills will be crucial in identifying financial risks and enhancing cash flow, driving project success from inception to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in civil engineering or construction.
  • Experience with project-based accounting and familiarity with government contracts.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP/accounting software and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new projects in the accounting system, including contract values and budgets.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and revenue against forecasts.
  • Prepare and process client invoices while ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Assist with collections and monitor accounts receivable aged balances.
  • Analyze project performance metrics including utilization and margin.
  • Maintain contract documentation and ensure compliance with client contract requirements.
  • Serve as a financial liaison between Accounting and Project Management teams.
