About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant for our construction client. This role is critical in supporting project financial management and ensuring compliance within the construction industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Proficiency with Sage Timberline or similar accounting/project management systems.
• Strong understanding of cost tracking, budgeting, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and revenue recognition standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor billing and ensure accuracy of invoices.
• Track project costs and assist in budget creation and monitoring.
• Conduct compliance reviews for certified payroll requirements.
• Handle revenue recognition processes in accordance with company standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to maintain financial integrity.
