About The Position

As a Project Accountant at PPG SW, you will serve as a key financial partner to operations, helping drive project profitability, accurate forecasting, and strong financial performance across a growing organization. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with leadership across multiple operating companies while supporting a larger nationwide platform within PPG. You will work closely with three operating companies across Arizona, Nevada, and Texas, gaining multi-entity experience and exposure to diverse project portfolios. This position provides high visibility, cross-functional collaboration, and strong growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding organization.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights
  • Ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders and influence decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • 1–3+ years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition a plus
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar ERP preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Construction or project accounting experience preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment a plus
  • CPA track or certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with project managers and operations leaders to monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
  • Analyze job cost performance including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead
  • Review project forecasts and identify risks and opportunities impacting margin
  • Prepare and issue pay applications and client invoices; track billing status and cash collections
  • Perform WIP analysis and support revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Review weekly and monthly project profitability and variance reporting
  • Participate in project review meetings with operations and leadership
  • Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end close
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure financial statement accuracy
  • Support intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations
  • Review cost coding accuracy across production and administrative departments
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Continuously identify process improvements to enhance reporting and efficiency
