About The Position

Our client, a growing organization in the construction/manufacturing space, is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their team in New Berlin, WI. This direct placement opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong project-based financial experience who enjoys working closely with operations and project teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting experience within construction or manufacturing environments (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearly

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting activities related to multiple projects, including cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition
• Prepare and analyze project financial reports, identifying cost variances and trends
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and financial performance
• Process and review monthly project billings, including percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
• Reconcile project costs, WIP schedules, and general ledger accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations
• Assist with audits and provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed

• Vacation: 2 weeks of vacation per year (pro-rated for the first year depending on start date). 5-12 years of service, 3 weeks. 13+ years of service, 4 weeks.
• Sick Leave: 5 days of Sick Leave per year. Pro-rated the first year after 90 days of service
