Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–7+ years in direct accounting and reporting, job‑costing, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and pricing
  • Experience working with projects where tracking labor, materials, equipment, and overhead projectors is critical.
  • Experience with both large- and small-scale construction projects, ideally in fiber network construction or general construction
  • Comfort working in a fast‑growth startup environment where processes are still being built
  • Must currently reside in North Carolina or South Carolina.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fiber network or telecom projects is a plus!
  • PMP or similar project‑management certification is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Controller and Project Managers to lead WIP management, percent-complete updates, and cost-to-complete forecasting to maintain accurate project status.
  • Work closely with PMs to review job cost reports, resolve discrepancies, and maintain financial accuracy.
  • Ensure billing aligns with contract terms, schedules, and customer requirements, and is submitted on time.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, contract compliance, and alignment with actual installed quantities.
  • Train field teams on cost coding, documentation standards, and financial best practices.
  • Partner with PMs to update percent complete, cost-to-complete, revenue projections, and margin forecasts.
  • Support the month-end close through journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and project-specific adjustments.
  • Ensure production quantities, completed work, and change orders are validated and properly documented.
