About The Position

Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables (Miami) and Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services. We are seeking applicants for a Project Accountant for our growing accounting team in the Boston, MA office. This position collaborates closely with the accounting team, Project Managers, and Principals, to support and manage the financial performance of our projects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks, be highly organized, demonstrate proficient computer skills, and have a positive, professional and team-oriented attitude.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business.
  • 0-3 years of professional services experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in professional services or the A/E/C industry and Deltek is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proper project setup, fee structure, invoicing and project close-out in Deltek.
  • Review proposals, contracts, billing templates, fee setup, and labor tables for accuracy.
  • Prepares invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to clients with necessary backup information.
  • Maintains and updates client records, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
  • Creates reports regarding the status of projects as requested.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to assist in resolving invoicing‑related inquiries
  • Interpret client invoicing protocols and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
