About The Position

WPVI-TV is an ABC-owned television station located in a state-of-the-art facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 6abc/Action News, is Philadelphia's #1 source for news! For more than 50 years Action News has been bringing the biggest stories of the day to viewers in the Delaware Valley, an area covering Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey, currently representing more than 8 million people! Our Department of Multiplatform Programming produces some of 6abc's most exciting television and digital content including the weekly show FYI Philly, countless specials, short form digital content, live events, and parades. 6abc is Philadelphia's top-rated broadcast station and one of the region's most-visited web sites. Our intern will have an opportunity to learn all aspects of television and digital production, from the beginning of a shoot to its delivery to our viewers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion for writing longer-form content, experimenting with digital formats, and creating various forms of video content.
  • Proven video editing experience in Adobe Premiere for television and/or digital platforms.
  • Strong writing skills with a track record of producing high-quality content.
  • Creative mindset with a history of recommending and implementing new ideas.
  • Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and subjects of stories, along with proficiency in social media.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from January 2026 through June 2026
  • Fully available for the duration of the internship, 20 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area

Responsibilities

  • Working with producers to plan story shoots for all department programs
  • Accompanying and assisting producers and field crews on location
  • Assisting with social media and web site campaigns
  • Assisting editors in organizing and creating final video projects using Adobe Premiere Pro and other modern editing applications
