About The Position

About the Role & Program The Programming d epartment' s Mission is to create, acquire and schedule premier content to engage fans and maximize audiences on all platforms. We lead the development of sport strategies across the company and manage constructive relationships with our colleagues in other departments and with our league partners and organizers. The program dates for this internship are June 1st - August 7, 2026. What You Will Do As an Intern on the Programming and Acquisitions team, you will contribute to the overall content scheduling strategy for ESPN across platforms .

Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of ESPN’s services and platforms, including how content is consumed by customers
  • Proven knowledge of professional and collegiate sports, including teams, leagues, schedules, and current storylines
  • Experience applying business practices in a professional office environment, such as research, coordination or project support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and effectively across teams
  • Exposure to television programming or production environments, through internships, coursework, or hands‑on projects
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to and from work

Nice To Haves

  • Appreciation for pop culture, trends and new technologies
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract administration processes
  • Basic understanding of other media, (radio, online, print, etc.)
  • Junior or Senior year preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Communications, Sports Media or related major preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting ratings research and scheduling across linear television and digital media networks
  • Develop ing presentations and interfacing with various other ESPN departments regarding programming initiativ es
  • A ssist ing with planning and scheduling for sporting events, in the three main areas of college sports, professional sports and digital media
