The Interface Analyst designs, builds, tests and maintains interfaces between the Epic electronic health record (EHR) and outside systems belonging to third-party vendors, ensuring HL7 standards are met and message structures are designed to standard. He/She will ensure that ports, IP addresses and message identifications are implemented between the vendor and the Epic system. The Interface Analyst prepares and analyzes test data and coordinates with the implementation team the migration of tested interfaces to production interfaces. He/She acts as liaison between SRHS user departments and third-party vendors during implementation and testing of interfaces. The Interface Analyst is responsible for the establishment of interface dictionaries/tables from Epic to third-party databases.   • Associate's degree in Information Technology or computer related field required.
  • Applicable work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Current certification(s) in Epic required at (or within the first 90 days of) job start (must complete required continuing education).
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience required with three (3) years IT experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
  • Job requires traveling throughout the SRHS service area - with the employee providing his/her own transportation.
  • Job requires out-of-state travel for education purposes.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Standard IT industry certifications preferred, such as Microsoft, Citrix and/or other relevant industry recognized certifications.
