About The Position

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Programme Support Unit and overall guidance of the Chief of Program Support Management Unit (PSMU) in HQ, the Programme Partner Management intern will play a proactive role in the promotion of programme partner management oversight by contributing to the development of self-paced learning module(s) on Programme Partner Management Policies, Procedures and Systems; and supporting the development of reports and dashboards to be used by clients, working in close collaboration wit  h other units in HQ and/or Regions/Countries.

  • University studies in one of the following disciplines: Educational Communication and technology, Instructional Design, Public Administration / Public Policy, International Development, Business Administration or other relevant subjects is required.
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required;
  • Applicants must ensure that all sections of the Quantum system application form, including the sections on education and employment history, are completed. If all sections are not completed the application may be disqualified from the recruitment and selection process.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of enrollment in a valid health insurance plan at the duty station of the internship, proof of school enrollment or degree, a scanned copy of their passport/national ID and a copy of a valid visa (as applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of Self-Paced Learning Module(s) on Programme Partner Management Policies, Procedures and Systems
  • Review the existing training content (including presentations, Menti-meter exercises, Quick Reference Guides, etc.) and design self-paced training content with certification at the end
  • Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and innovative approaches, contribute to the development of Self-Paced Learning Module(s) which will be hosted in the UN Women Training Centre website
  • Interact with the regional and country office PSMU Focal Points and Project Managers to design the Module from a user perspective, including collection and inclusion of examples and good practices.
  • Create Reports and Dashboards by using existing UN Women applications such as Quantum (Oracle-based), PGAMS, Assurance Module and PRISM, as well as Power BI and other similar tools.

Benefits

  • Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
