Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Volunteer and Student Services Program. Responsible for coordinating volunteer, student shadowing, and intern programs, while ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and compliance. Partners with department leaders to align volunteer and student placements with organizational needs while maintaining regulatory requirements. Manages: Clerk, Volunteers, and Students Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Candidates must also possess experience working in Volunteer Services or a similar administrative or program coordination environment. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Licenses/Certification: • N/A Required Qualifications and Skills: Knowledge of recruitment, screening, onboarding, orientation, and training processes for volunteers and students Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse ages, backgrounds, and experience levels Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to utilize hospital information systems and volunteer management software (e.g., Volgistics) Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, schedules, and compliance requirements simultaneously Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and onboarding standards (e.g., CORI, immunizations, training requirements) • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments Essential Duties: Oversees daily operations of Volunteer and Student Services. Coordinates with schools and colleges to establish, maintain, review, and track student affiliation agreements, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements and regulatory standards. Plans and coordinates volunteer and student recognition and engagement events to support retention and enhance the overall program experience. Plans, coordinates, and administers volunteer, student shadowing, intern, and junior volunteer programs. Recruits, interviews, screens, onboards, orients, and schedules volunteers and students in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Provides direction and support to staff, including task assignments, training, and performance feedback. Maintains accurate volunteer and student records, including hours, credentials, and compliance documentation using Volgistics and hospital information systems. Ensures all volunteers and students meet onboarding requirements (e.g., CORI, immunizations, training, confidentiality agreements). Collaborates with department leaders to coordinate placements based on operational needs. Monitors program effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improvement. Addresses volunteer or student concerns and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner. Supports recognition and engagement initiatives to promote retention and positive program experience. Prepares reports and metrics related to volunteer and student participation as requested.
