About The Position

This position will support the Florida Department of Education’s (FDOE) mission by helping to implement the agency’s overall communications strategy and departmental communications efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience with public relations activities, including promotional campaigns, government affairs, public speaking, special events, publications, advertising or media
  • Proficiency in utilizing design tools such as Adobe/Canva
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Experience developing engaging content
  • Two years of experience in Graphic Design
  • Knowledge of the rules of grammar and punctuation
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of public relations, public information, mass communications, journalism, news reporting, editing, advertising or marketing
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality graphics for marketing campaigns, social media, websites, presentations and print materials
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in style, tone and messaging
  • Create, schedule and publish content across social media channels
  • Analyze performance metrics (engagement, reach, growth) and optimize content strategies accordingly
  • Assist with the production of effective marketing campaigns for initiatives and events
  • Create engaging marketing assets such as social media posts, banners, posters, certificates and other items as requested
  • The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit
  • Employee must be productive under tight timeframes and potentially stressful environments and capable of balancing multiple priorities
  • Special projects as assigned by the Director
