The Office of K-12 School Choice Program Specialist II handles compliance related to virtual instruction and home education in Florida. They support districts, ensure statutory requirements are met, and assist families and stakeholders across both educational options. The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position for a Program Specialist II that is responsible for executing the following functions: Administrator of Florida’s Online Course Catalog. This entails working with DOE IT on revisions and subsequent versions of the catalog from a program perspective; developing, maintaining and updating user guides, tutorials and other types of technical assistance for administrative and public sides of online catalog; establishing and updating district accounts; providing technical assistance to districts; responding to questions from public users and conducting outreach, marketing and other activities to inform parents about the catalog. Customer Service. The employee is the first point of contact in the office for internal and external customers and maintains/revises office contact databases. This employee also functions as the corrflow liaison for the office. General Office Manager. In this capacity, the employee manages the work flow and work flow processes in the office to ensure timely and accurate work products, and is responsible for providing general support to the Program Specialist IV and the office Director.
