About The Position

Performs routine consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting with planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, and the public. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Business Administration, Human Services, English, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required two years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years full-time, wage-earning clerical, secretarial, administrative support, or program support experience.
• Computer operations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws related to the program area.
• Knowledge of processes and techniques of public administration, training and marketing, and program management.
• Knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.
• Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
• Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
• Skill to develop, evaluate, and interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Skill in problem-solving techniques and devising solutions to problems.
• Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
• Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
• Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program performance.
• Skill to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts.
• Skill to market programs.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs.
• Skill to train others.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 15 lbs., perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to and collaborates in the planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of agency programs; and identifies trends and makes recommendations for changes in policies, procedures, and training strategies.
• Performs an array of technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities related to assigned programs.
• Serves as a liaison to staff, government agencies, community organizations, and the general public to assist in explaining program specifics and requirements.
• Monitors and reviews compliance with requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for assigned programs.
• Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
