Program Managers are responsible for the overall planning, direction, and successful execution of major programs, system development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that are critical to an organization’s mission. These programs are typically large, multi‑year efforts composed of multiple sub‑programs and task areas. They oversee the full definition, organization, and management of both short‑ and long-term program plans. This includes: Helping support in the planning, integration, and oversight of IPSS activities such as maintenance, logistics, technology integration, training, data management, and regulatory compliance to ensure streamlined processes and reduced total cost of ownership throughout the product lifecycle. Helping support in the coordination of resources, schedules, and technical milestones across multiple sub‑programs and task areas, ensuring alignment with quality assurance performance standards, government surveillance requirements, and mission objectives for ships, submarines, shore sites, and training facilities. Supporting the implementation of risk management, quality control, and continuous improvement practices to support government monitoring efforts, ensure contract compliance, and proactively identify and resolve performance issues that may impact mission readiness. Formulating, guiding, and directing the technical approach. Determining resource needs; and negotiating with organizational and agency personnel to secure those resources.
