About The Position

Leads the development and coordination of national adaptive sports and recreation programs for PVA. This role requires strong program management skills, the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously, and experience collaborating with diverse teams to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Sports Management or related field or five years’ relevant work experience; adaptive sport and recreation programming preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the application of adaptive bowling and boccia rules and regulations preferred.
  • Experience working in environments with Veterans or Veterans with disabilities.
  • CPR Certification and Adaptive Recreation Specialist Certification plus.
  • Excellent judgment and written/oral communications skills required.
  • Excellent ability to problem-solve.
  • Computer literacy; knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • 25% travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and successful delivery of PVA’s Boccia and Bowling programs.
  • Lead, develop, and coordinate adaptive sports programs in accordance with organizational goals and standards.
  • Manage the development and implementation of additional programs, as assigned by the Senior Director of Sports and Recreation.
  • Create training and education materials for PVA chapters and other adaptive sports providers.
  • Identify key program objectives and deliverables to measure program success in accordance with departmental goals and mission.
  • Review participant feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and enhance program quality.
  • Align adaptive sports programs with widely accepted best practices in the field.
  • Maintain database, records, and files for all sports programs within their purview.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize program data and prepare quantitative reports for department leadership.
  • Assist in preparation of program promotional materials, press releases, Board reports, newsletter articles, and other documents as needed.
  • Work closely with PVA chapters to deliver adaptive sports programs in their regions.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations about PVA’s adaptive sports and recreation programs to increase awareness.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget proposal and track and maintain budget expenditures for assigned programs.
  • Ensure program compliance with safety standards, risk management protocols, and relevant regulations.
