About The Position

Nammo Perry Inc., a key U.S. operation within the international Nammo Group, is a center of excellence for the design, development, and production of advanced munitions, pyrotechnics, and solid rocket motor propulsion systems supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and allied programs. With a major expansion underway—including a new state-of-the-art rocket motor manufacturing facility in Perry, Florida, and a supporting office in Tallahassee—Nammo is enhancing domestic production capacity to meet critical national security demands. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to lead high-priority solid rocket motor (SRM) propulsion programs. This role will support the ramp-up and execution of defense-critical projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of reliable propulsion solutions in a regulated, high-stakes environment. As a Program Manager based in our Tallahassee office, you will oversee the full lifecycle of solid rocket motor programs—from development and qualification through production and sustainment. You will serve as the primary interface with DoD customers and prime contractors, lead cross-functional teams, and drive program success while traveling to the Perry production facility as required. You must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (Requires U.S. Citizenship).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive program/project management experience in aerospace/defense, with at least 5 years in complex hardware systems such as propulsion, munitions, or energetics.
  • Direct experience managing programs in the solid rocket motor or closely related defense industry.
  • Proven expertise in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation, compliance, and Control Account Management.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with prime contractors and DoD customers/program offices on defense contracts.
  • Must be a self-starter with a proven high level of initiative—able to operate independently, anticipate challenges, and drive solutions in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail under stress
  • U.S. only citizenship required; active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products
  • Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
  • Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and high-reliability manufacturing in propellants or rocket motors.
  • Experience with tactical or strategic propulsion programs for missile systems.
  • Familiarity with production facility ramp-ups or new program integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of solid rocket motor propulsion programs, including design, development, testing, production, and delivery phases.
  • Oversee program scope, integrated master schedules (IMS), work breakdown structures (WBS), cost baselines, and technical performance in compliance with DoD standards.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) processes; act as Control Account Manager (CAM), perform performance analysis, variance reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as key point of contact with prime contractors and Department of Defense (DoD) customers/program offices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, pursue opportunities, and resolve issues proactively in a dynamic defense environment.
  • Prepare and deliver program status reviews to senior leadership and customers; facilitate data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to ITAR, export controls, DoD acquisition regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS), quality standards, and safety requirements for energetics and propulsion manufacturing.
  • Foster collaboration, initiative, and accountability across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and test teams.
  • Identify program risks and opportunities, develop mitigation plans
  • Support proposal activity as needed.
