Job Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY: Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects and program launches within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Liaison responsibility between manufacturing, engineering, and the customer. Plans and formulates program and organizes project staff according to project requirements. Leads or assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, product testing, APQP documentation, financial analysis, process development, component sourcing, tool construction, program quoting, defect analysis and problem resolution, project timing, prototype and pilot build support, and packaging development. Ensures that product design reviews for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications are completed. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Manages integration of technical activities and products. Evaluates and approves design changes. Ensures evaluation of specifications and drawing releases. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Control tool builds with suppliers, review feasibility and tool designs with team. Prepares interim and completion project reports. Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions within the project. Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace. Cooperate with OSHA inspectors. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately. Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate. Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves. Understands and follows existing magna procedures, work instructions and standards and makes recommendations for continuous improvements.   • Seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must maintain proper vision requirements.
  • Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.
