About The Position

M Financial Group is looking for a Program Manager to join our team. This role is designed for a highly capable, self-directed operator who can manage complex initiatives across business units, keep leaders aligned and informed, and bring structure where ambiguity exists. The Program Manager will lead and coordinate strategic and operational initiatives that span multiple teams, stakeholders, and dependencies. This person must be comfortable working with executives, business leaders, technology teams, and external partners to drive progress, surface risks, support decision-making, and communicate status simply and clearly. The ideal candidate brings a combination of program and project management discipline, business judgment, and adaptability. They are scrappy, practical, and not overly attached to one methodology. They know how to use tools such as Azure DevOps to maintain visibility and momentum, but they do not confuse process with progress. They can lead themselves, be led when direction is given, and operate effectively in a lean environment where partnership, follow-through, and clear communication matter.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in program management, project management, or a similar cross-functional delivery role
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, fintech, or similarly complex and regulated environments preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing initiatives across multiple teams or business units with competing priorities
  • Experience supporting executive stakeholders through effective reporting, meeting facilitation, and decision support
  • Experience using Azure DevOps and related project/program tracking tools
  • Strong ability to organize ambiguous work, create structure, and keep momentum without excessive oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information for executive audiences
  • Strong meeting management skills, including agenda development, facilitation, note capture, action tracking, and follow-through
  • Proven ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, and drive accountability in a matrix organization
  • Comfort working in a lean, evolving environment where roles may flex and priorities may shift
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and ability to build credibility across levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with technology teams on systems, platform, workflow, or business process initiatives
  • Working knowledge of software delivery concepts and the systems development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with insurance, wealth, financial operations, or enterprise service environments
  • PMP, CAPM, Scrum, or other project/program certification is a plus, but not required
  • Experience building simple, executive-friendly dashboards or status reporting packages
  • Experience helping teams adopt practical governance and delivery disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional programs and projects from intake and planning through execution, implementation, and closeout
  • Partner with executive sponsors, business leaders, and functional teams to define scope, goals, timelines, dependencies, risks, and success measures
  • Keep senior leaders on track by driving clarity on decisions, ownership, timing, and next steps
  • Facilitate meetings with purpose, document outcomes, and translate discussions into clear actions, decisions, and follow-up
  • Produce concise, useful meeting notes, status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries tailored to the audience
  • Manage initiatives across multiple business units and teams, ensuring coordination, accountability, and forward movement in a matrixed environment
  • Maintain program and project records in Azure DevOps and related tools, ensuring work is visible, current, and actionable
  • Identify risks, issues, blockers, and decision points early; escalate appropriately and propose practical options for resolution
  • Support leaders in prioritization, sequencing, and tradeoff discussions across competing workstreams
  • Track milestones, dependencies, action items, and deliverables, and hold teams accountable to commitments
  • Build strong relationships across business and technology teams, including leaders in finance, insurance, operations, and related functions
  • Help standardize reporting, governance, and operating rhythms without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Support change adoption by reinforcing communication, readiness, and accountability across impacted teams
  • Contribute to improving PMO practices, templates, and tools in ways that are useful, lightweight, and scalable
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
