About The Position

The Program Manager is responsible for coordinating the development and administration of various programs that are implemented by the Office for Access & Title IX (OAT9) at UT Southwestern Medical Center. This position is charged with being a lead facilitator for the office's outreach and compliance training efforts. This position also assists with employee accommodation requests and investigations of complaints of discrimination and harassment pursuant to federal, state, and local EEO laws and UT Southwestern Medical Center's Equal Opportunity Policies. Moreover, the position will have significant responsibility in ensuring institutional compliance with EEO related state and federal contractor obligations. Experience writing position statements on behalf of corporation or higher education entity to EEOC, Texas Workforce Commission or similar state entity is strongly preferred. Candidates are strongly encouraged to include a writing sample with application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
  • 2 years of HR/legal/compliance experience involving EEO investigations and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • (SHRM-CP) SHRM Certified Professional or equivalent Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a lead investigator for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation concerns.
  • Serves as a liaison and internal consultant to management, departmental leaders, and schools/Dean's offices regarding compliance for equal opportunity, EEO state and federal compliance, and campus accessibility.
  • Collaborates, when necessary, with the Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Legal Affairs, and Compliance departments regarding regulatory compliance issues.
  • Develops training with regards to accessibility, impartial opportunity, and related topics for the university and healthcare systems.
  • Provides technical assistance, advice, coaching, and consultation to individuals and groups regarding conflicts and disputes, as well as policies and practices that might have an adverse impact on a particular group(s).
  • Supports the development and administration of the university's program(s) related to EEO federal contractor compliance.
  • Assists in collecting and monitoring transactional data for university planning (i.e. hiring, promotion, termination, etc.) and generating related reports for management.
  • Partners with institutional leaders to develop and implement initiatives that promote the adoption of inclusive strategies to enhance the recruitment and retention of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans in accordance with state and federal law.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to employees and managers regarding Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters.
  • Assists with the evaluation and investigation of claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other EEO related concerns, as needed by the Office for Access & Title IX.
  • Leads investigations and audits into EEO related concerns and oversees the investigations and audits of other office staff.
  • Meets with individuals and uses independent judgment and initiative to provide conflict resolution and referral options.
  • Uses independent judgment in analyzing ADA accommodation requests to determine eligibility for accommodation in accordance with University policy and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); manages the request for accommodations including providing requestors with procedural information, working with managers in the interactive process, and communicating accommodation decisions to requestors and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
