About The Position

The College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) is an integral part of the Colorado State University land-grant system. The CAS Dean’s Office is responsible for oversight in fulfilling the land-grant mission in agricultural sciences through teaching, research, community and economic outreach and engagement, in service to and in cooperation with Extension (CSUE) and the Agricultural Experiment Station (AES). The CSU System supports the work of its three member universities: CSU Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, and CSU Global, serving more than 40,000 students annually. The CSU System offices are located in downtown Denver. The International Agriculture Program is embedded within the CAS Dean’s Office and is affiliated with the CSU System. The program builds platforms and collaborates to support international agriculture efforts across the university. With local, national, and international partners, the team addresses global challenges and empowers the next generation of leaders. The team’s work consists of three primary programmatic areas: 1) the North American Agricultural Advisory Network (hosted by the CSU System), 2) the Colorado GROW Youth Institute, and 3) agricultural partnerships that connect Colorado and the world. Employees of the program are based at the CSU System Offices in Denver and at the College of Agricultural Sciences in Fort Collins. This position is based at the CSU System offices in Denver with occasional meetings held at the CSU Spur campus in Denver and the CSU Fort Collins campus. Occasional U.S. and international travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirement may be substituted.
  • Three (3) years related professional experience, including demonstrated professional experience planning meetings and special events.

  • Strong critical thinking skills in the areas of process development and problem solving.
  • Experience with social media marketing or online engagement platforms.
  • Experience with event planning, conference organization.
  • Experience with CSU fundraising, travel, HR, and payment systems.
  • Knowledge of the International Agriculture Program and its key areas of work, with specific attention to the multi-country and cultural focus.
  • Knowledge of food and agriculture sectors locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and working as part of a fast-paced, multifunctional, diverse team.
  • Fluent in Spanish and/or French.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and host in-person and virtual meetings, seminars, and other events with the International Agriculture team.
  • Track projects, deadlines, and deliverables across initiatives serving local, national, and international stakeholders.
  • Research, implement, and maintain existing processes and systems for programmatic areas and in support of International Agriculture team internal operations.
  • Manage back-end of NAAAN CONNECT engagement platform in partnership with International Agriculture team, including tracking users, updating databases, liaising with technology support, and addressing user questions.
  • Identify and track impact metrics across program areas.
  • Manage and track relationships and new contacts across in-person and virtual events on internal databases.
  • Develop and strategize meeting agendas, official documentation, project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables in collaboration with the International Agriculture team.
  • Write, submit, and coordinate grants for programmatic support.
  • Write, edit, and format reports, presentations, and other collateral.
  • Support purchasing and invoicing processes for the International Agriculture team.
  • Organize and coordinate travel authorizations and reimbursements in coordination with the International Agriculture team.
  • Manage the day-to-day work of the International Agriculture office, including as warranted, meetings with partners and assistance with scheduling for the Director.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal staff at CSU Fort Collins, CSU Spur, the CSU System, and with external partners.
