FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Agriculture Program Assistant. Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. JOB SUMMARY The Agriculture Program Assistant is responsible for providing care to ensure the growth and development of edible tree, shrub and vine fruit, vegetables, and the care of farm animals on the Fort Valley State University Campus. The Agriculture Program Assistant will provide assistance with programming and demonstration site maintenance in relation to animal and plant production, to include trainings, farm tours, and workshops. The employee must be a team player and willing to assist in other areas as needed in the upkeep of Extension facilities, tractors, vehicles, and other equipment.
