About The Position

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. As a NPI Operations Program Manager, you will be the primary operations/supply chain interface to the development team and operations functions with the responsibility for driving operations and new product development as well as supporting those products through the production ramp. You are well versed in the Contract Manufacturer (CM)/Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) manufacturing environments and will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Google standards. This role is highly cross-functional and requires interaction with teams spanning across a variety of functions giving you exposure to the new product introduction process. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in NPI operations management.
  • Experience in the manufacturing supply chain.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or MBA in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering or other relevant fields.
  • Experience with AR glasses.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a new product ramp, from initial design validation to mass production phase.
  • Drive ramp readiness with engineering, operations and contract manufacturers, focus in overall capacity planning, manufacturing process scalability and bring up plan that includes factory space, labor hiring, training and production lines qualifications.
  • Support critical mechanical tooling fixture validation builds when design is mature, from the last phase of design development through initial mass production.
  • Drive cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain, while providing strategic plans to balance risks, changes in schedule or demand.
  • Oversee and prioritize risk mitigation strategies, (i.e. tech assessment, new tech application, cost variance, supply chain review. etc), and manage equipment budget at the factory and provide support for products in a sustaining environment.
