About The Position

The Program Manager supports the Director of the Discovery & Innovation Hub (DIH) in implementing and coordinating the Hub’s programs, operations, and stakeholder engagements within the Hub at the Mount Sinai Harlem Health Center. This role ensures smooth execution of initiatives, operational efficiency, and alignment of Hub activities with OPED’s institutional priorities. The Program Manager serves as liaison between internal teams, external partners, and the broader innovation ecosystem, enabling the Director to focus on strategic oversight and enterprise-level engagement. Role Context within OPED Embedded within OPED’s Academic Community & Culture Core, DIH functions as a shared institutional resource aligned with MedEd, GSBS, GME, Faculty Affairs, and community partners. The Program Manager contributes to: Supporting the integration of DIH programs with OPED’s broader professional engagement strategy Facilitating operational and administrative execution of innovation, digital health engagement, and community partnership initiatives Enabling cross-functional alignment and communication across institutional stakeholders Ensuring program activities are executed effectively and meet quality and impact expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in program management, operations, or project coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and operations workflows
  • Proven track record of supporting leadership while taking initiative to execute tasks independently
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and administrative skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency with data managements, reporting, and digital tools (SharePoint, Google Suite, Slack, Microsoft Suite, Canva, TalentLMS etc.)
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse teams and external partners
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting the Director?s leadership and the Hub?s community-centered innovation work

Nice To Haves

  • Master?s or advanced degree preferred
  • experience in health tech, innovation, or entrepreneurship preferred
  • Familiarity or experience with startups. Entrepreneurship, health innovation ecosystems, or community-based organizations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the DIH Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing all Hub programs, workshops, fellowships, and community engagement initiatives
  • Support operational and administrative functions, including scheduling, documentation, communications, and reporting
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, helping to coordinate partnerships, collaborations, and community engagement efforts
  • Track program participation, metrics, and outcomes to support program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate logistical support for the communities we serve including DIH scholars, program participants and institutional partners
  • Work alongside the Communications Manager to coordinate outreach efforts, increase engagement, and raise awareness of DIH initiatives, programs and events
  • Work with internal stakeholders including the Medical Student Research Office to ensure compliance with scholarly year and summer fellow requirements
  • Foster a collaborative, organizes, and professional team environment that supports the Director’s leadership and the Hub’s mission
