About The Position

The Program Management Specialist works in collaboration with management of a specific program or group of programs in a specialty/functional area including scheduling and budgeting activities. Collaborates with program leaders to implement the program's objectives in support of identified goals and the continuous improvement process to monitor the program's effectiveness and to mobilize stakeholders in support of continuous improvement to the program. Facilitates interdepartmental activities ensuring ongoing effective program operation and/or implementation. Identifies opportunities to enhance or expand the program and presenting proposals to management. May oversee the process of executing initiatives essential for the success of the program, including communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external. May lead teams in support of the program's objectives. SERIES CONCEPT: A program is a specialized area with specific complex components and discrete tasks which distinguish it from the main body of the organization. There is a defined plan to accomplish a particular objective with elements and scope that distinguish it from the usual scope and responsibilities of a department or functional area. The specialized tasks involve interpretation of policies, procedures and regulations, independent functioning and public contact. A program typically has a long-term focus with an expectation that the plan/program will serve or impact on-going needs or goals. The primary responsibilities and accountabilities are typically transferable from one program to another. The performance of administrative tasks are in support of the individual's performance specific to the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, health care or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years experience with program support; including three (3) years in program/project coordination in a professional capacity.
  • Two (2) years experience working on quality and process improvement projects with cross-functional teams; including data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Proven record of project completion, program planning, execution and status reporting.
  • Experience successfully developing relationships across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in public health, health care or social services.
  • Experience analyzing improvement data and working with internal clients to analyze and develop improvement strategies.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement/Lean methodologies and processes.
  • Awareness of current and emerging trends in project management technologies, techniques, issues and approaches.
  • Experience project coordinating/facilitating large complex organizational initiatives that cross all departments and roles.
