About The Position

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) envisions a world where children are safe, families are strong, and communities are vibrant. LSF is seeking a talented Program Director who wants to make an impact in the lives of others. Purpose and Impact: The Program Director will provide oversight and coordination of a continuum of care to ensure holistic, culturally competent services for LSF clients. This position acts as a liaison between all relevant stakeholders in the local system of care/service area. This position ensures the effectiveness and quality of services through supportive program management, monitoring, data management, trend analysis and evaluation, training, and technical assistance. This is a non-direct care position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field is required.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in program management or in a related field (refugee services, migrant service, child welfare administration, child protective services).
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services.
  • Excellent clinical and crisis intervention skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical assessment and analysis skills
  • Must be able to pass FBI, and Child Abuse and Neglect Checks for every state in which they have resided in the last five years.
  • Able to travel to other counties specified in the contract as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with applicable program related certification(s)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is program-specific and may be required by some programs. If not required by the program(s), bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the daily operation of assigned program functions.
  • Supervises all assigned programs and staff under scope of responsibility.
  • Assures assigned programs meet or exceed all licensing, quality assurance, and fiscal requirements promulgated by regulatory and compliance entities, such as Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF), Department of Health (DOH), Council on Accreditation and other such agencies.
  • Ensures adequate staffing in assigned program areas.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations in accordance with the Agency’s compensation plan.
  • Prepares improvement plans, corrective action plans, and warning reports for employees when they fail to comply with LSF Policy and Procedures, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and DCF – Refugee Services rules, regulations, and goals.
  • Develops and/or administers program budget, revisions, and amendments.
  • Reviews monthly financials and prepares corrective action, when needed.
  • Attends recommended meetings or conferences.
  • Monitors case files monthly and goals for each employee to assure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Reports regularly to the Regional Program Director all aspects of employee performance and development.
  • Interpret data, analyze results to provide ongoing reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems.
  • Submit program reports on a timely basis that reflect statistical information and activity of the programs.
  • Reviews, approves, and signs staff timesheets, expense reports, DPVs, PTOs, vacation schedules, and forwards to Regional Program Director for final approval (if applicable).
  • Assists the leadership in writing grants/proposals, outreach, and community development tasks and other special projects.
  • Conducts outreach, community networking, and development including making presentations to community agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
