About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Program Director ensures quality care and oversees functions of the program according to regulatory bodies and accreditation requirements. This individual is responsible for the oversight and implementation of care and resources for the purpose of meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of tenants. The Program Director provides supervision of all of the programs’ services and works to develop, implement, track, report, and evaluate measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • MA, MSW, MS in Human Services or other appropriate social science is required.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ supervisory experience.
  • At least five to seven years of progressive work experience in the field.
  • Experience working with dually-diagnosed individuals and/or families.
  • Experience with one (1) or more populations including: mental health, substance use, inpatient/outpatient treatment, homelessness and supportive housing populations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and exercise sound judgment in crisis situations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, people and managerial skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, when necessary.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on providing excellent tenant services.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a diverse community of residents, program staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sites’ service delivery, compliance to contracts, targets (case management, substance abuse, employment, housing retention, medical, mental health, chart compliance, recreational and group activities).
  • Provides leadership, guidance, direction, and supervision to all staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of targets and benchmarks.
  • Interviews, hires, and sets up trainings for program personnel to reach program goals.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, resignations, and terminations.
  • Plans and interprets all policies and procedures for staff; ensure training and implementation of all policies and procedures in accordance with funder and AAPCI requirements.
  • Plans and organizes program activities to maximize program contract's goals and performance targets as outlined.
  • Facilitates interdepartmental communication and conducts regular staff/departmental meetings.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of statistical information for both AAPCI management and regulatory agencies (DOHMH, OTDA, OMH).
  • Works collaboratively with property management staff to ensure effective communication as it relates to incidents, repairs, rental arrears, and complaints.
  • Conducts periodic internal file review and implement Quality Assurance measures as needed to ensure quality service delivery to tenants.
  • Organizes onsite and offsite training opportunities for professional development of staff.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Program Director in the implementation of crisis prevention and/or intervention strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Serves as the Incident Commander and reports all serious incidents to the Program Coordinator, DOHMH and OTDA.
  • Participates in all trainings, meetings, IRC meetings, internal and external audits.
  • Ensure completion of all required documentation including DOHMH surveys, audits and required input into CAPS and TMS.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
