About The Position

Work under the guidance of the leadership of the Foundation to successfully implement several programs that will provide the community with an opportunity to connect with causes that matter to them while engaging with other community members. The Program Coordinator will develop partnerships with individuals, groups, businesses, and local municipalities that support the strategic growth of the Foundation throughout Kane and Kendall Counties and the City of Aurora. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following in addition to other duties as assigned by the President and CEO. Goals: Provide community members with an opportunity to meet with other community members of all ages throughout the service area to share their interests in philanthropy and work together to maximize their giving capacity through time, talent, and treasure. Coordinate the following programs with the support and direction of the Foundation leadership: · Youth Engagement in Philanthropy Program- Coordinate programs for youth (high school) within the service area of the Foundation. · Other programs for young adults and seniors- Coordinate programs for young adults and seniors that will support their interests in philanthropy and build engagement with the Foundation. Support the Foundation’s scholarship and grantmaking programs. Support the Foundation’s advancement events and activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program development and relationship management in the nonprofit sector.
  • Highly organized and creative, with extreme attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to have customer service as the top priority.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and fundraising software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to the increasing demands of a growing organization.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, team environment, collaborating with and supporting other staff as needed.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.

Responsibilities

  • Market the various programs with the support of the Vice President of Marketing and Communications to recruit participants yearly.
  • Facilitate the applications and gather all necessary paperwork from all program participants (and parents for YEP).
  • Coordinate a calendar of events for all programs with the leadership in the programs creating opportunities for the various programs to collaborate with one another on service projects, fundraising activities, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Work with the leadership teams of the various programs to develop plans for monthly meetings and ongoing development of the programs.
  • Outline potential fundraising opportunities with the Director of Donor Services and organize participants to lead these activities.
  • Outline potential service projects and community events throughout the year and organize participants to lead these activities.
  • Recruit adult mentors to provide support for the YEP program, organizing opportunities and outlining roles and responsibilities.
  • Document the highlights, successes, and outcomes of programs and communicate them to the various constituents of the Foundation, including the Board of Directors.
  • Work with the VP of Marketing and Communications to update content on the various program website pages to reflect accurate information.
  • Maintain current records in the Foundation’s software on all prospects and donors.
  • Coordinate the programs’ grantmaking activities.
  • Interact with program participants utilizing appropriate communication platforms in line with the policies of the Foundation.
  • Work with the Foundation staff to host recognition ceremonies and events.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and the public about the services of the Foundation.
  • Provide program assistance for the scholarship and grantmaking programs as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support for advancement and donor services as needed.
