About The Position

The Program Coordinator for the Adult Day Program in Long Beach, CA, is an organized and proactive role focused on program coordination, staff training, administrative support, creating engaging activities, and leading special projects that enhance programs. This role plays a vital part in assisting program operations, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth execution of services, contributing to consistent, high-quality programming and direct client engagement.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to lift and transfer 50 lbs.
  • At least 1 year of experience in disability services, adult education, or community-based programs, preferably in a day program or vocational setting
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Adaptable and creative
  • Organized with excellent time management capabilities
  • Confident and strong communicator
  • Positive role model; able to lead, coach, and support
  • Tech savvy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Human Services, Special Education, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Director in ensuring consistent, high-quality programming
  • Step in as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) when needed to ensure continuity of care
  • Assist with goal tracking and progress reports
  • Oversee daily documentation, ensuring accuracy in individual records, ISP updates, and data tracking
  • Plan and schedule engaging program services, recreation, and activities
  • Coach and support our dedicated staff
  • Support staff in accurate documentation and program execution
  • Provide hands-on coaching to individuals in skill-building and community integration
  • Assist with finances
  • Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Assist with facility management to ensure a safe and supportive environment

Benefits

  • Competitive Pay: $22.75/hour
  • Full Range Scale : $22.75 - $25.40 per hour (The starting rate for this position is fixed at $22.75 per hour. Pay increases occur over time and are tied to tenure/length of employment with Dungarvin.)
