About The Position

There is a Program Coordinator II vacancy with Yakima County Superior Court. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of therapeutic and specialty court programs in Superior Court. This position is also responsible for data mining, data monitoring, data analysis and creating detailed reports for Superior Court that will be utilized by management to make strategic decisions, contain risk and direct resources to specific target areas. The incumbent in this position will evaluate programs and/or court related case management by use of statistical tracking data and trends and develop strategies to provide effective and efficient statistical reports. The incumbent in this position will work with Court Management and the Judges to assess their data and reporting needs and to develop the most comprehensive and efficient methods for monitoring data. Acts as a liaison between all interagency and community programs, related to Therapeutic Courts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Judicial Administration AND two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience working in the chemical dependency field with knowledge of mental health, criminal justice, and judicial systems, including performance and outcome evaluations for improving program evaluations that improve program operations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs program administration of the Therapeutic Court programs in Superior Court to ensure policy and procedures as well as grant guidelines are followed by all parties involved.
  • Serves as the direct liaison between members of the Therapeutic Court Teams which consist of multi-departmental professionals and the Therapeutic Court Judge, to coordinate court and treatment activities for Therapeutic Court clients.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Therapeutic Court Programs such as calendaring, data management and maintenance, using statewide databases and calendaring systems as well as Microsoft Office applications to schedule meetings with all stakeholders in the program and track and report statistical information.
  • Collects and enters statistical data for Therapeutic Courts as well as other Superior Court dockets for quality assurance and case management planning purposes; compiles and evaluates the data for simple and complex reports to Superior Court Judges, the Superior Court Director, state and/or federal grant agencies; makes recommendations for program improvements.
  • Assists the Therapeutic Court with grant writing and funding.
  • Collects, summarizes, and analyzes data that will be utilized by program management staff to make strategic decisions.
  • Produces reports on complex issues that present objective, rational findings on which policy decisions can be made; evaluates information from various sources to prepare reports.
  • Prepares required statistical and programming information for grant reports and reimbursement requests from grant agencies; conducts research of other therapeutic court programs to make program recommendations to the Therapeutic Court Teams.
  • Represents the Superior Therapeutic Court Programs in meetings with service providers, other criminal justice partners, and legislative representatives and/or lobbyists, and apprises the Superior Court Judge and Director of program progress, needs, concerns, etc.
  • Provides detailed written recommendations concerning feasibility of continuing current programming or adding new programs based on research and studies.
  • Collaborates closely with consultants and other involved departments or agencies on grant applications and program development.
  • Assesses technology and administrative needs; provides collaborators with statistical analyses to assist with program decision-making either pre-grant award or post grant award; tracks items purchased for Therapeutic Court Programs (i.e., books, incentives etc.)
  • Research, compile, and prepare proposals for specific grant or state funded programs such as the Drug Court, Mental Health Court, etc. as required by the Executive Judicial Committee and/or Court Director; develops, publishes, maintains and distributes program literature; makes presentations about therapeutic court programs; organizes and coordinates therapeutic court graduations; provides back-up for other Superior Court positions when needed.
