About The Position

The Program Coordinator for U.S. Embassy and Department of Health (DOH) Cooperation on Tuberculosis (TB) and Global Health Security (GHS) will provide strategic coordination and technical support to the DOH Bureau of International Health Cooperation (BIHC). The position will play a critical role in strengthening DOH capacity to effectively manage and implement programs in tuberculosis control and global health security. The Coordinator will support the DOH in carrying out life-saving humanitarian assistance (LHA) service delivery in full alignment with the new Presidential Executive Order (EO) directives. This position will support coordination between DOH program units and U.S. Government stakeholders to ensure that bilateral commitments under the Development Objective Agreement – Improved Health for the Underserved Filipinos (DOAg-IHUF) translate into measurable program outcomes. The Program Coordinator will assist in ensuring that program implementation, monitoring, and reporting meet the standards and requirements of both governments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health sciences, international relations, development studies, public administration, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience supporting public health programs, development projects, or government coordination activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, reporting, monitoring, or administrative support for health or development initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with government offices, development partners, and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prepare reports, meeting documentation, and program tracking materials.
  • Ability to conduct field visits and support monitoring activities when required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central focal point within the DOH Bureau of International Health Cooperation for U.S. Government-supported activities.
  • Provide technical support for implementation of TB and GHS interventions and ensure integrated approach to programming.
  • Coordinate with DOH program units, the U.S. Embassy, implementing partners, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of TB and health security initiatives with national priorities.
  • Organize and document meetings, consultations, and program activities related to U.S.-supported projects.
  • Consolidate inputs from DOH offices and assist in the preparation of funding requests, technical assistance proposals, and project briefs.
  • Maintain systems to track program activities, milestones, and outputs, and support the preparation of periodic accomplishment reports.
  • Document program milestones, lessons learned, and best practices, and maintain an organized repository of program agreements, communications, and deliverables.
  • Conduct field visits, as needed, to monitor U.S.-supported activities and support joint missions, monitoring activities, and program evaluations.
  • Assist in facilitating the processing and turnover of U.S. Government health commodities, including TB drugs and diagnostics.
  • Prepare and submit a terminal report at the end of the assignment and perform other related duties as assigned by the BIHC Director.
  • Coordinate U.S. Government-supported tuberculosis and global health security activities implemented in partnership with DOH.
  • Ensure TB and GHS program activities are aligned and contribute to reducing TB-related morbidity and mortality while strengthening outbreak preparedness and response capacity.
  • Serve as liaison between DOH program units, U.S. Government counterparts, and implementing partners involved in TB and GHS programming.
  • Provide operational and technical support for high-level missions, joint planning activities, and coordination meetings between DOH and U.S. Government stakeholders.
  • Track key decisions, deliverables, and follow-up actions to support timely implementation of program activities.
  • Collaborate with DOH program units and U.S. DOS to monitor budgets and expenditures of U.S. Government-funded activities.
  • Support financial monitoring and analyses linking funding utilization to program outputs and outcomes.
  • Review partner financial reports for accuracy and alignment with program implementation plans.
  • Maintain dashboards and monitoring tools that track program performance and identify implementation bottlenecks.
  • Provide inputs to technical reports, donor reporting requirements, and policy documentation related to U.S.-supported programs.
