The Program Coordinator for Societies is essential to maintaining effective student advising, meeting LCME requirements, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple core functions within the MD program. This role provides critical support to Society advisors, manages Capstone and the M2 Elective Lottery, oversees SGA communications and logistics, and administers Society budgets. As an Educational Specialist, the coordinator partners with curriculum faculty to coordinate program activities, enters and oversees grade processes. Without this role, advising continuity, accreditation compliance, and overall student support would be significantly compromised, placing additional strain on faculty and staff and negatively impacting the student experience. The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.
