About The Position

This is a highly responsible professional position within the Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) program. The program Consultant manages multiple projects varying in size that support the Department’s program needs by following project management methodologies. The Program Consultant is responsible for organizing, planning, and supporting program management projects from concept through implementation. Collaborates with other internal and external agency partners to identify project tasks, achieve progress, and ensure milestones are reached. This is not a supervisory position however, the selected candidate must be able to manage, direct, and lead cross functional DCF teams involved in project activities. The incumbent must be organized and detail-oriented, be able to work with diverse teams, and possess the ability to proactively communicate tasks needed to meet department goals for assigned projects. Additionally, the selected candidate will be a member of the DCF disaster response team and may be required to perform emergency program and/or disaster response duties and travel on short notice, outside of normal business hours, in support of agency and ESS-specific disaster relief activities.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience working where the primary responsibilities were project or program management focused.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in managing or leading a team.
  • Experience working for DCF in the Economic Self Sufficiency (ESS) program or other Federal or State governmental agencies, community agencies, or non-profit agencies.
  • Must be willing to work in office at the DCF Headquarters Office located in Tallahassee, FL.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as travel may be necessary to assist with disaster response activities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working in an emergency management and/or disaster response and recovery capacity. This experience should encompass directly working in a role supporting one of these functions.
