To assist the Kansas State Department of Education in carrying out the Kansas State Board of Education mission, we are recruiting for a Program Consultant on the Child Nutrition and Wellness team. The child nutrition consultant is responsible for completing federally required oversight for local sponsors of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) as assigned. This is accomplished by conducting administrative reviews. The incumbent also provides consultative services, technical assistance and training to CNP management personnel in the assigned region. The consultant's work helps to increase access and ensure that local CNPs operate with integrity while providing high quality nutrition and wellness programs for Kansas children. The CNPs include the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, After School Care Snack Program, Special Milk Program, CACFP At-Risk After School Meals Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program and the Summer Food Service Program.
