Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year in a billing, coding, or utilization review position OR demonstrated proficiency as a Program Billing Specialist.
• Outstanding organizational and customer service abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office and general computer skills.
• Adapt to changing needs and deliver results with speed and precision.

Responsibilities

• Enter billing data from clinical documentation to generate accurate billing charges in accordance with funding source requirements.
• Review and verify incoming clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with timeliness and payer-specific standards.
• Collaborates with manager/supervisor to ensure electronic billing charges and corrections are completed timely to support maximum reimbursement.
• Maintains required performance data and billing and collections metrics.
• Stay updated on HIPAA and other regulations, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to state, federal, and agency policies.
