This temporary position is with NC DPS - Governor's Crime Commission, located at 1201 Front Street, Raleigh NC 27609, Wake County. The Dept of Public Safety - Governor’s Crime Commission is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Edward Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Criminal Justice with collection and maintenance of data through regular contact with subrecipients. Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
- Create graphic publications and coordinate data collection from agencies.
- Assist with Data Advisory Group meetings
- Work to create a data landscape for criminal justice and establish justice data for counties and agencies
- Assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information
- Apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities
- Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action, as well as explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff
- effectively use correct grammar, organization, and structure. in written and oral form with the ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience
- Process and review data for compliance and provide resources and technical assistance to subrecipient agencies
- Plan, attend regular calls, meetings, workshops and conferences with state and federal partners to remain informed on Criminal Justice and SCIP related issues
- Maintain expertise in Criminal Justice and other relevant federal guidelines, state statutes, and case law affecting federal grant programs
