The Foundation is seeking a mid-level professional to join its Atlanta Civic Site team, assisting with the development and implementation of neighborhood transformation strategies, small business programming for Pittsburgh Yards and capacity building in metro Atlanta. This role collaborates with colleagues, grantees and partners to advance policies and practices that aim to create thriving neighborhoods through affordable housing, community safety and neighborhood capacity building; reports on results and presents the work of key initiatives and grantees; and identifies areas in need of capacity building and innovation. This role will also support small business programming for Pittsburgh Yards [http://www.pittsburghyards.com], a commercial redevelopment project on the southside of Atlanta. Pittsburgh Yards aims to spur a more equitable distribution of income, wealth, jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for residents.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in community and/or economic development, non-profit management, business or a related field, or a combination of education, training and related lived experience.
  • A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in place-based community work; familiarity with the unique challenges inherent in place-based philanthropy is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse partners, including government leaders, service providers, anchor institutions, nonprofits, persons with lived experience and other institutional partners.
  • Experience with neighborhood redevelopment programs and/or capacity building for small nonprofit organizations.
  • An understanding of the social determinants of health and how they can be influenced by funders at the neighborhood level.
