About The Position

The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City. Our vibrant Older Adult Center/Home Delivered Meals helps older members of the community live life to the fullest by providing case management, support services and activities to more than 3,000 center members. Birthdays, holiday parties and other social events strengthen the sense of community. Our hot lunches provide vital nutrition support at an affordable price. Our older adults are actively involved in the center, so services and activities reflect their needs and interests. The Program Associate will be responsible for the administrative tasks of the Food and Nutrition Department/OAC in support of the HDM Manager in working with data entry, compliance, policies, and procedures of the department. The Program Associate will be responsible for collaborating daily with staff, clients, and volunteers. The Program Associate will provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, including delivering volunteer orientation meetings. Schedule: Monday through Friday 35 hours per week. Hourly Rate: $21.33 Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly of Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to quickly and accurately type and enter data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of databases

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Peerplace and SQL a plus
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency; you’ve worked in Excel previously and know how to filter and sort data, as well as some basic formulas
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and professional manner
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure/multitask and meet deadlines
  • Work Environment (indoor/outdoor)

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of the HDM and OAC to ensure a high-quality volunteer experience, focusing on greeting volunteers, hospitality, troubleshooting issues, and delivering volunteer orientations to groups of various sizes and backgrounds.
  • Assist with preparation and updating of variety of documents to communicate information in a timely fashion in line with compliance requirements to meet contractual goals.
  • Inputs appropriate data in the prescribed format, utilizing basic knowledge of computer software or systems.
  • Cross-references data to ensure accuracy and completeness; scans and edits for errors during entry.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information, establishing entry priorities.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Update databases or records with new information as it becomes available
  • Correct and modify inaccurate files and records
  • Create and organize spreadsheets with large numbers
  • Protect the information and identities of customers/clients
  • Organizing paper formats, paper backups, and material source files as needed
  • Performs other duties as required.
