This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh - Wake County, with the Department of Health & Human Services. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). The Healthcare Data Analyst serves as an entry-level healthcare data and program analyst supporting the regulatory, trauma, and healthcare preparedness programs within the North Carolina Office of EMS. This position analyzes healthcare data, supports reporting and dashboard development, assists with business process documentation, and collaborates with internal workgroups to improve data quality and operational efficiency. This role supports statewide healthcare system coordination by helping evaluate trends, improve data quality, and enhance operational efficiency across EMS systems, trauma programs, and related healthcare entities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • An ideal candidate will have experience working in or supporting healthcare, emergency services, or other regulated service environments with exposure to data, reporting, quality improvement, or operational analysis.
  • Healthcare Background (EMT, Paramedic, RN etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to analyze complex EMS and trauma data and translate findings into actionable reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support regulatory and operational decision-making.
  • Knowledge of data validation and reconciliation methods to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Skill in clearly communicating technical data insights through written summaries, presentations, and visual reporting tools for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate workflows and business processes to identify and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and system performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with program staff, technical vendors, and stakeholders to manage data requests and support system reporting needs.
