About The Position

For over 30 years, Sentinel Offender Services has provided community-based, offender-funded monitoring services across North America. Working with law enforcement, community corrections agencies and the court system, we provide customized offender management solutions that help to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success. These solutions combine electronic monitoring technology, alcohol and substance abuse testing, and community-based offender management programs.

Responsibilities

  • Field Tech will begin their day by accessing their email accounts and answering any emails and phone calls from Maine Pretrial and/or any participant communication.
  • Each morning Field Tech will review participant balances and email Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and NHDOC to alert them of balances in excess of $150.
  • Field Tech will post total fees collected for the day to accounting system each weekday.
  • It is the Field Techs is responsibility to monitor participant compliance with daily fees and to follow up on non-compliance issues with the participant and Maine Pretrial.
  • The Field Tech will draft Non-Compliance Reports for any participants in violation of fee payment requirements over $300.
  • The Field Tech will provide a balance and end fees when Cumberland Sheriff Office and NHDOC notifies the Field Tech that the participant is leaving the program.
  • The Field Tech will also prepare any refund requests and submit them along with receipts to Account Manager for approval and submission to Accounts Payable.
  • Daily, the Field tech will ensure the office has adequate stock of electronic monitoring equipment to process new client enrollments and equipment replacements and expedite timely return of nonconforming or excess equipment.
  • Daily or as needed, the Field tech will track retrieval efforts for all devices not recovered from completed participants. All lost equipment will be promptly reported to the Regional Account Manager to process.
  • Explain how to modify a schedule (when applicable)
  • Answer any questions regarding their EM hardware
  • Redirect questions regarding their sentence terms (such as length of sentence or EM end date etc.) to the supervising entity/officer
  • Explain how to gain additional “approved” activities through their supervising officer. (when applicable)
  • Office installations
  • Confirm good hook up
  • Explain to the participant how to install the EM/Base hardware in the residence
  • Confirm (the following business day) that the EM/Base unit was installed correctly by printing the participant’s first day activity report.
  • BART Only– If Applicable: Ensure a successful test and reference photo is captured at the Sentinel office or upon their return home.
  • SCRAM Only-If Applicable: Ensure a successful baseline reading was completed, and the bracelet is free of tamper events.
  • Field Tech will be responsible for keeping the participant’s original Participant Contract, along with providing a copy to the Participant and all related equipment documents.
  • The Field Tech will make every effort to recover unreturned equipment from participants to include calls to the participant’s residence and emergency contacts and mailing equipment recovery letters to the participant’s residence.
  • Due to Field Tech not being sworn officers nor being outfitted with personal protection devices, Branch Managers will not make field visits to recover equipment.
  • If the participant absconds, or the equipment is not returned within 30 days, Sentinel may file theft charges locally.
  • The Field Tech will make every effort to recover unreturned equipment from participants to include calls to the participant’s residence and emergency contacts and mailing equipment recovery letters to the participant’s residence.
  • Due to Field Tech not being sworn officers nor being outfitted with personal protection devices, Branch Managers will not make field visits to recover equipment.
