About The Position

The Virginia State Bar (VSB) seeks a self-motivated, purpose-driven individual to manage and support the VSB Clients’ Protection Fund (CPF), which is designed to reimburse clients who have suffered a financial loss because of the dishonest conduct of an attorney practicing law in Virginia. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled legal or administrative professional to make a direct impact on an important public service program. In this role, the administrator will: • serve as the initial point of contact for all CPF inquiries • manage CPF case records from receipt of petition to case closing • draft and prepare correspondence and reports • coordinate payment of approved claims and collections with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General and Supreme Court of Virginia • work closely with CPF Counsel to analyze petitions and assist CPF Board members in investigating the petitions • review, maintain and recommend improvements to CPF policies, procedures, forms and training materials • serve as the liaison to the CPF Board and coordinate meeting logistics, Virginia Freedom of Information Act notices, dockets, materials, and records • support public and VSB member education efforts related to CPF, including website updates, publications and outreach initiatives
