The Professional Nursing Practice Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to day support of Professional Practice of Nursing throughout Children's National. Works in collaboration with the nursing leadership team to plan, implement, direct and evaluate service/department activities for Children's National Medical Center in accordance with accepted national standards and administrative policies. Assumes responsibility to achieve Professional Nursing Practice objectives and holds staff accountable. Partners with Director of Nursing Science, Professional Practice and Quality to ensure that a) all of nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards (including Magnet), Children's National Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, and b) the quality of nursing practice aligns with and supports the Professional Practice Model. Evaluates and implements the Professional Model of Care ensuring alignment with and support of RNs professional practice. Facilitate Nursing Professional Practice activities within the Division of Nursing including implementation and evaluation of shared governance; adoption and dissemination of evidence-based practice and research; alignment of practice with Registered Nurse professional practice. Provide input in the hiring development and ongoing evaluation of assigned staff to meet operational objectives.
